EUROCITY
EuroCity trains travel on domestic routes as well as cross-border routes and offer you a variety of features in addition to the most modern furnishings and shortest travel times:

• Complimentary seat reservation for Eurail Pass holders in first and second class,
• Last-minute reservation,
• Restaurant car,
• Cabin-to-cabin refreshment service.

InterCity
InterCity trains are regular domestic trains with stops in major cities and tourist areas. The EC trains are furnished to first-class standards throughout, and you can enjoy «service to your compartment» in each car.

D trains
Expanded trains on the EC and IC lines on longdistance routes. Dining car & snack and drink service to your compartment

To make your trip as enjoyable as possible, Austrian Railways offer you dining cars in international and selected “Top Trains”, most of them managed by their partner company, è-express. In more than 60 trains, they provide cabin-to-cabin refreshment service, serving the passengers an attractive selection of drinks and snacks.

Women’s Section
As a special service for female passengers traveling alone, Austrian Railways have set up a women’s section in a fleet of trains, ensuring completely undisturbed travel for women. These sections include six seats in the no-smoking compartment, and six beds in the sleeping cars of the night trains. These are closely monitored by train personnel and can only be used by women. Reservations may be made up to three months in advance

Eurail passes are not valid on the following trains:

• Graz-Köflacher Bahn und Busbetrieb GmbH
• Innsbrucker Verkehrsbetriebe und Stubaitalbahn Gmbh
• Montafonerbahn AG
• Niederösterreichische Schneebergbahn GmbH
• RoeEE: Neusiedl am See – Fertöszentmiklós (Hungary)
• Salzburg AG – Salzburger Lokalbahn
• Schafbergbahn & Wolfgangseeschifffahrt
• Steiermärkische Landesbahn
• Stern & Hafferl Verkehrs-Gmbh
• Wiener Lokalbahnen AG
• Zillertaler Verkehrsbetriebe AG
• London-Venice Orient Express

In general, Eurail passes are also not valid on :

• Car transporting trains
• Chartered trains (Ski, Pilgrimage, etc)
• Private steam trains

A Pass valid in Austria (OBB) is also valid for the ÖBB-Intercity bus service between Graz and Klagenfurt v.v., but not valid for  the route Klagenfurt - Villach - Udine – Venice
