Future Network Developments For national transportation the restructuring of suburban transport is one of the future strategic objectives. It is envisaged that all basic transport operators will be combined in one comprehensive organizational structure. Thirty new Siemens suburban trains have been introduced to run on the Slovenian network in the 2001 - 2003. These trains are constructed on the basis of the most recent technical and technological solutions and belong to the latest generation of European railway vehicles. A second important innovation is the purchase of Pendolino InterCity trains.
