Validating a Eurail Pass

Validating a Eurail Pass
A Eurail Pass can not be used for traveling until the first and last day of validity, validating stamp and passport number are filled in on the Pass.

This can be done by an agent, when issuing a Pass, but will generally be done after arrival in Europe. This is referred to as “validating a Pass”.

Validation in Europe can be done by a railway official like a clerk at a ticket window or at a Eurail Aid Office.

When the first trip originates in a non-Eurail country, the Pass may be validated on the train (by a ticket inspector of the country where the Pass is valid).
